So I wanted to make a bunch of custom-designed U2 album covers to celebrate the U2 concert I'll be going to two weeks from now. I decided to post them in the order I first heard them, rather than chronologically, so as better to show my "journey" through U2. The first? How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, the album that introduced me to U2, and made me a fan for life. I wanted to give the album a symbol of sorts, since I didn't feel like it really had one before. Kind of like Green Day's American Idiot. I also wanted to stay away from using pictures of the band. So after listening to the album, I decided the best way to describe HTDAAB would be Love. Just Love. That's what the entire album talks about, using Love to dismantle the "Atomic bombs" in your life. So I made the symbol a bomb, with the ironic peace symbol, but with a tail in the shape of a heart, heading toward the famous U2 bullseye that was made so popular during the Vertigo tour. So that's basically it... more coming later.

The width of the back is uneven with the front, but really good nonetheless. I like how the bombs are presented in hearts and peace signs.

#3, It's because he didn't add the back side to the henge or whatever.

I like it, can't help but think about a Target commercial though.

#9, Haha, I was thinking that too, actually. But the target was a big symbol for them on this album, so it had to be there.

Fantastic graphic design per usual Koopa. It's always interesting to read how you come up with you ideas going into a design. Interpreting the message of the record collectively into an attractive and relevant symbol is really slick.
