So.... Achtung Baby. My favorite album by U2, and the last one I purchased. I really wanted to do this album justice. I started out with the idea of making it like the new No Line On The Horizon cover... just an image, no name, not even the band name on it. At this point in their career U2 were huge, and this album was so well-accepted that it really wouldn't have needed a name. When I started on it, I just wanted to have Bono screaming, with words and pictures and phrases shooting from his mouth. But then it turned into this massive image of everything the album talks about. Achtung Baby, and its resulting Zoo TV tour, were big on the idea of being superficial. The album is mainly about regret, the lyrics talking about lost love, regretted love, the evils of society, and even deception, lies, and deceit. There's war, greed, lust, etc. So I set out to show that. The planes, the space shuttle, the two people kissing (from Watchmen, actually), the Hollywood sign, the money, the soccer player, and even the TV with the infomercial were all chosen and placed for their tie to the themes of the album. With the back, I just wanted to stay simple, and leave it with the hand with the remote, a big image from the Zoo TV tour and videos from this album.

This is pretty cool. I feel the way you are presenting it takes away from the cover. the cover has a simple look to it and a lot of black. Because of this I find my eyes focusing more on the bg you chose to place it on.

You continue to crush my collection one cover after the other. Perfect job capturing the album's themes.

#2, Yeah, I will admit, the presentation isn't the best, but I didn't want to use black, white didn't fit the theme, and I couldn't think of anything else. What you are seeing is actually the original album cover and back... it's a collage of several different images, and like my cover, it doesn't actually say the album name until you get to the back.

Another great U2 case Koopa! The front you put together really has a strong pop art sensibility that I think works well for the record.
