It's not the logo and Apollo I see what you mean but I feel like the official didn't capture the essence either, so I wanted to try something completely different from other MGS boxes. I tried to keep the art all MGSish but with a bit of a different twist. Thanks for the comments and favs. |

[re: v1] | #9, I was just asking if you even looked at the printable because the back image is made up of words. Old Snake is made up of the words Old Snake and same with Liquid Ocelot. I just wanted you to see the full design not just the first take you had on it. Everyone has opinions, I wasn't trying to sound mean I'm just not good with words. [re: v1] | #16, I wondered if he meant sigh or not and thank you for your nice comment and to all the others who commented and faved =] I went to Staples and printed all my 300dpi boxes out. They look really cool in cases. I would like to buy some empty cases but they are so costly on ebay. |

[re: v1] | I'm glad you mentioned that, Trev. I've been contemplating using Staples (Or a Kinko's) to print out some boxes. At 300dpi, would you say it was maximum professional quality? Can you look at it and tell that it isn't printed officially? I want to print some, but not unless they're of perfect quality (No grainy look to it, no bleeding, no pixels, glossy paper, final destination.) This box is really impressive. I commend you on it, but how did you go about doing it? Did you copy/paste the text in photoshop and actually assemble the image yourself, or did you use some kind of application that will turn text into an image? |

[re: v1] | #18, They look official as long as you have good colors. Black with red font will obviously look like crap but white with black font looks spot on. I brought in a game cover and showed them what the paper was like and they used "brochure" paper. I printed my MGS4 boxart out and you can literally see every single letter just like when you view the printable. I will honestly go to Staples and have them print all my boxes that are 300dpi. Another cool thing is you can email your closest Staples and they will print your design and you can just swing by and pick it up and not have to wait in line because it took me around 15mins for a couple prints. It cost 1.09 a print for me. If you want I can take a picture of it and upload it. To explain how I did this is kind of complicated but I will try my best. If you type a word and change it to rasterize layer, you can select it and save it as a brush. Go into brush settings and when you brush the MGS4 it will do different sizes and do multiple MGS4's as you brush around the page. If that doesn't make sense just say so. Then you fill the page with MGS4 words and you make a layer mask with the image "snakes face" but with a solid white background and then you invert it so the background is black and his face is white so that the background deletes all the outside words and the white face keeps the words, so his face is made up of the MGS4 words... gosh I hope that made some sense. [re: v1] | #20, It made absolute sense. Brillaint use of Photoshop. Stuff like that is what I like to see, you know? Copy/paste, repeat just gets kind of old. Thanks for the feedback on Staples. I might go with them since you're so satisfied. I'd love to see a high resolution photograph of the result. Not to imply that you don't know what you're doing, but just in case: Make sure the area is extremely well-lit. Use the appropriate setting (The flower is for close-up images of objects) and set the camera up on a make-shift tripod if you don't have one to stop blur. Don't use flash, and if it comes out orange or tan, just use photoshop to apply some light blue to the photograph to neutralize it and get a proper color. (I love product photography.) Great job, man. I'm glad I favorited it. |

Edit: Ok here is a couple pictures. Note that I have a crappppy camera and that the only clear part of my pictures is the middle. So look how clean the font is even though its soooo small.
